Daymer bay at Trebetherick

Self catering holiday cottages for your dog and you in North Cornwall

Things to do

Cornwall is an absolute hive of activity. There is something for all the family whatever the weather.

Beaches

Cornwall is famous for its wonderful sandy beaches, loved by families and surfers alike.

Daymer Bay (10 miles from Higher Tregawne), between Rock and Polzeath, boasts a big car park and shop and accepts dogs all year round. Activities include rock pooling, bucket and spading and the swimming is excellent.

Body boarding is great fun for all the family

Body Boarding

No need for lessons - just go to Polzeath and try it. Be sure to check with the lifeguards where it is safe to do it.

The Camel Trail

Right from your cottage door you can walk down to the Camel Trail and into Wadebridge, or to the Camel Valley Vineyard where you can sample wines and have a picnic.

The Camel Trail runs through Wadebridge (4 miles from Higher Tregawne) to Padstow and is a fantastic bike ride.

The Camel Trail is also enjoyed by walkers and the Coastal Path offers miles of spectacular coastal scenery and hidden coves for walkers to discover.

Fishing trips run from Padstow harbour

Boat Trips

Combine a visit to two of Cornwall’s most picturesque fishing harbours with a return trip on the Fowey to Mevagissey Ferry across St Austell Bay. Board the Jubilee Queen for a boat trip around the Padstow Estuary.

Speed Boat Trips

Enjoy a high speed boat trip around the Camel Estuary passing the beaches of Daymer Bay and Polzeath. The boats, appropriately named Thunder, Fireball, Jaws and Sea Fury, run daily from the harbour, weather and sea conditions permitting, from Easter through to October.

Fishing

Fishing trips depart daily from the harbour at Padstow.

A wide range of trips are on offer including wreck and reef and bottom fishing as well as mackerel trips which are fun for all the family.
